We got this hose kit to replace one of our original Hayden central vacuum hose and wand we use for our 2nd floor bedrooms. The old handle ON/OFF switch was shot, and the telescopic wand was held together with packing tape. But having a dedicated kit upstairs beats constantly dragging the main floor hose/wand/attachments up and down stairs.This hose plugged perfectly into our wall outlets, and worked flawlessly. The stainless steel telescopic wand is MUCH lighter to handle than our old heavy chrome-plated steel one.The selection of tool nozzles in this kit is impressive! We really like the Wessel Werk RD 285 floor attachment. It has wheels and a pivoting/rotating head that makes it super easy to maneuver on hardwood floors and our rugs. The thin profile along the front and sides helps it slip under appliances and cupboard gaps where our previous floor attachments couldn’t.The crevice tool is smaller than our old one too, making it easier to get into tight spots. The round duster brush attachment has a very large opening, which keeps the bristles from collapsing in and reducing suction (a typical problem with most of these style brush attachments). The upholstery tool has a nifty slide off brush – two tools in one! The hardwood floor brush attachment is nearly identical to our old one, and works fine.The mini-turbo beater attachment worked great on all our rugs and runners! This little beater brush has a clear shell, so it’s easy to keep an eye on the belt and pulleys for cleaning. It also has a rubber bristled brush on a rotating guard, so it's easy to turn it up out of the way without removing anything from the tool. This beater tool relies on the vacuum to spin the beater brush – we’ve owned several versions of these and they work for a while before the plastic bushings overheat and stop spinning. This one seems to spin much more freely… we’ll see how the longevity of it is.With the mini-turbo beater, there is no need for a powered brush – and this hose/handle does not have any electrical cord to power one. That isn’t a concern for us, since this kit will be used upstairs for our bedrooms (which are all hardwood and low-nap area rugs).The hose is relatively short at 30’, but again it will work just fine as an auxiliary vacuum kit in our upstairs bedrooms.The plastic hose hanger seams lightweight, but holds the hose and wand on the wall just fine.The fabric hanging storage bin is pretty basic, but is fairly worthless for this kit; there are side sleeves for extension handles – which this kit doesn’t use – and they are too deep for the crevice tool (if you accidentally put it in a sleeve, good luck getting it back out). The two main pockets are okay for the smaller nozzles in the kit, but they are not large enough to fit the full-sized floor brush or the Wessel Werk attachment.The odd piece is the plastic tool holder. It will hold three small attachments, but the clip portion is too small to fit over any portion of the wand tube – if that’s where it’s supposed to go. There are no instructions with the kit, so it’s not clear how this holder is intended to be used – so for now we just have it clipped to the storage bin.Overall, we are very happy with this kit and do recommend it!
