These are great water bottles for the kids. When they were younger we used the spill proof sippy cap, and now the sport cap. Love the color selection and size.I am loving my Klean Kanteen. It actually WORKS! Works best, of course, if you add ice. The opening is large enough for my ice cubes. I usually just rinse and refill and haven't really had to clean it yet, but I will definitely need to use a brush or some drop in bottle cleaner tabs (Bottlee Bright) because the opening is pretty small. No dents or dings yet, but I expect that will happen eventually.Keeps my water ice cols just as i want it, even when i left it in the car during the heatwave (caution the outside did get hot to the touch). I did not receive a damaged or dented one as a few reviewers apparently have, so I'm happy about that. This bottle really does keep water very cold. I filled it up with ice cold water at about 10am on a Friday morning, and by 5pm it was still ice cold. I left it in my car for a few hours today while running errands, and when I got home and took a swig the cold water I had filled it with in the morning was still cold. I had it sitting next to me all evening with the lid off, and the water is STILL ice cold. I should note that I live in South Texas, where today's high temp was in the upper 80s - meaning it was 90+ in my car.Overall, I am very pleased. I have another non-insulated Kanteen with the sport cap, which I do not care for at all, so I bought this one with the loop cap. I was really hoping it would fit into the side pocket of my 5.11 Tactical Rush 24 backpack, but it's about 1" too tall...a bummer, because as a music teacher who travels to various campuses during the day, I like to have water handy. I've ordered the stainless steel lid, which I think has a shorter profile, so we'll see if that makes it fit. If not, it's not a deal breaker - I'll just hook it on with a carabiner or something.I really, really love this bottle. There is absolutely ZERO funky or metallic taste to my water, another huge plus. I hope it continues to keep my water cold...probably do an updated review after I've had it a little longer. For now, though, HIGHLY recommended.***UPDATE*** I received the lower profile stainless steel lid today, and I'm happy to report that the Kanteen now fits in the side pocket of my 5.11 Rush 24 backpack. It's a little tough to get it in, but once it's in it fits just fine. I'm happy about this for many reasons, mainly that I can store it in that pocket rather than in the main compartment or hanging from a carabiner, and when I lash it to the passenger seat of my motorcycle the bungee cords I use to secure it won't squash it like they do plastic bottles. No more plastic bottles for me!**UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2016***I have now had this bottle for almost a year and I am just as pleased with it now as the day I received it; so much so that I'm buying a 32 oz as well. A huge item in its favor is that it absolutely does not sweat. I love that I can fill this with cold water, take it in my car in the high heat and humidity of south Texas, and then bring it to my office (which is usually about 68F) and the surface is dry. I can set it on my desk and not worry about it sweating onto my paperwork or leaving a water ring. Also, I have never put ice in this - only cold water from the fridge - and even with the outside heat it stays frosty cold for hours. I have had ZERO issues with funky taste or smell and the stainless steel cap I use still works perfectly. It does tend to squeak a little when I screw it on or off, but I've learned to live with it. I did drop it and ding the bottom a little but it hasn't affected the functionality at all.Another thing I love is the rolled edge of the mouth. I bought a 12oz insulated bottle for times when I want to carry less in my bag, and although it works just as well the edge of it is not rolled and makes it pretty uncomfortable to drink from...so much so that I really don't use that bottle at all. At any rate - this was a great buy and I'm looking forward to more years of use.It works to hold water. What else can you ask for?My daughter highly recommended these and after waiting for her to buy me one; I got one for myself and my husband.Before making any purchase I am an obsessive researcher and in this instance I feel I have both let myself down and been misled.This item is very beautiful and seems to be well made. However, it has a major design flaw which renders it almost entirely useless. The cap. Unlike other thermal flasks I have used in the past the cap off this one is just a single layer of plastic; no hollow cavity inside to add to the insulation. Put a hot drink into this bottle and you can immediately fell the heat escaping through the cap and the neck. It's like insulating the walls of your house and not bothering to insulate your roof so all the heat just goes out the top.When I researched this item I was swayed by some claims of keeping drinks hot for over 24 hours but these are completely false. Lucky to get more than 4 hours and then expect a 'warm' cuppa. Would not recommend.The best water bottle I have ever bought. I was a bit unsure about this bottle due to the rather high price. But after leaving it in the car one day for 5 hours, when the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the car was very hot, when I drank from the bottle the water was still very cold with some small ice chunks still floating around. I have never looked back.Such a great product! This Klean Kanteen product are awesome in every way: good medium size (give and take: size and weight), excellent grip, good seal, pretty color, easy to clean, does not flavor your beverage, and last but not lest: responsibly produced.To top it off: quick delivery and good packaging - in other words; great seller.Would highly recommend!use this daily since we bought it, excellent product and a good price.Really impressed with my klean Kanteen. A beautiful vibrant colour with a lovely feel, keeps my water cold for hours. Its easy to clean and and very robust. Great delivery
