The 90649 is an individually packed 40 foot low voltage hose and chrome button Lock stub tube. The hose also features soft grip handle with n style (Xs6) wall end. Our low voltage hoses are high quality, resulting in no kinks and great suction to go along with the excellent flexibility. The hose is silver in color, while the handle is black. This is a low voltage hose, meaning it will plug directly into your central vacuum inlet valve, but will not power electric power nozzles. This will work with all standard 1. 25 inch accessory tools and wands.
Compatible with major brands of central vac, including beam, no-one, Electrolux, Hayden, vacumaid, aggressor, md, Canavan, cyclonal, Honeywell
Fully 40 feet of hose length, helping you to reach in every corner of the room
Made in the usa
Includes a soft-grip handle with a great ergonomic feel

We have a large house with three central vacuum points on each of three floors. The hose that came with the 40-year-old Hoover system reaches about 90 percent of what we need to vacuum. Annoying, but we've put up with it for years and used a shop vacuum for the other 10 percent. We had to lug the hose up and down stairs, so we may be purchasing more hoses and store one one each floor. At first we thought that a 50-foot hose would be too long and too heavy. Since the low-voltage hose we purchased doesn't have high-voltage wiring in it, it's far lighter than the OEM Hoover hose. With a 50-foot hose, three vacuum points per floor cover the entire house including in corners and along the ceilings. Two points cover vacuuming floors only. The hose material may be slightly thinner or made of a different material, so one may need to be extra careful not to kink or crush it.Although it works well, I don't find a need for the hose-end suction adjustment feature. We removed the plastic adjustment piece and taped over the hole. Most central vacuums have more powerful suction than stand-alone vacuums do, so consider this before doing what we did. There is a depressible button on the handle for securing attachments, but we've found friction-fit attachments suit our needs and stay attached.REMEMBER -- this is NOT an electrified hose, so any electrically powered attachments will not work with this hose without a separate power cord. And, of course, it cannot be used to vacuum water or liquids. The hose switch turns your central vacuum motor on and off, but not the electrically powered attachments. You will need a powered hose or a separate 50-foot line-voltage cord to use them. Otherwise use either suction-powered or unpowered attachments. Some commentators have noted issues with the plastic components. While our OEM hose is heavier and has endured 40 years of use, the new hose is lighter and apparently made with a different plastic. I think that careful use and storage of our new hose should give many years of vacuuming pleasure (if there is such a thing).
