This product is life-changing. Before I had this, I dreaded wall repair… larger projects would create so much dust that I’d spend hours (or days) cleaning up residual dust on every surface that wasn’t walled off from my work area! Now, there’s literally no dust in my work area, let alone dust three rooms away. I’m just amazed! And I’ve saved so much time already!!Also, as an added bonus, I think the hose and adapter are sized such that I could even use them to attach my Dewalt palm sander to my vacuum. Total win all around!I can't believe I haven't purchased this years ago. I use to plastic off the area of just get dust on all the customers things. I used this recently and it worked like a charm. Highly highly highly suggest investing in this if you do drywall work. It's indespenseableGreat for small closed in spaces, attaches to my shop vac with no issues. All it needs this to be motor powered and this would be a all in one for your renovation needsThis is a good product for dustless sanding, it does work for small areas just attach to a shop vac and go to town, my only downside the clips that hold the sanding screen aren't as strong as I'd like for longer sanding runs but tale your time and shouldn't be an issue. ??I was trying to keep dust down on a home job renovating a bathroom. I was skeptical at first, but this little thing really did well. The only thing I would do different next time is to get the one that has the ability to use the extension. I had read a review that it gummed up on someone, but the only time it got gummy on me was when I hit some compound that wasn't dried completely. But some extra screens.Simple to set up, simple to use. Took advice from other user and got the Joest sanding papers. All worked well. Used to sand shiny walls, just wanted to dull finish and some spackled spots. Was super fast and no dust.I'm in the middle of some repairs to get our house ready to sell and move out of state. I'm not great with mudding, and I was dreading the clouds of dust that result while we are still living in the house. There are a few good YouTube videos that have helped me improve my technique and also greatly reduce the amount of sanding that I HAVE to do. Even a little dust is still a big problem though in living spaces, and near the kitchen.I learned about these in an online video, but none are available in any store in my area. Several sellers on another platform didn't even respond to requests whether they could expedite shipping. I'm not really understanding that. Only Amazon was able to get it to me in just one day AND $12 cheaper than the lowest price I found anywhere else; everyone else was at least ten days.Overall this works great for its purpose. It does take more physical effort to move the sander because the suction pulls the sander against the wall. I'm not an athlete and no longer a spring chicken, and I was sweating after sanding two large areas I had to patch in our house after removing outdated wall heaters. There was a little dust, but not the clouds I have experienced without this. At one point I thought it had failed, and then noticed the hose came loose from my shop vac.My one big gripe about this is the sander is just a hair too long for the sanding paper/screen, which keeps coming loose. I had the same problem with this whether I used the 150 grit screen that came with it or some 120 grit screens that I have from previous work in my house years ago that fit great on a traditional drywall hand and/or pole sander. The attachment clip on this sander is able to get a grip on just the very edge of the screen at each end, and it keeps coming off while sanding. Why did Hyde make this sander too long for standard sheets? Two of the three features below this are irrelevant to this product at this point, so why are they there? Suction power is a factor of the vacuum being used, and I haven't had the thing long enough to rate durability. As for maneuverability--relative to what? it's not as maneuverable as a standard hand sander, but that's pretty much common sense, and you know that going in.I am impressed. I initially had problems because the suction was too good, but I purchased an inexpensive attachment that allows me to diffuse and regulate the vacuum. While is a little bulky, it really does collect the vast majority of the dust. I love it.I have sanded drywall many many times over the last 40 years and I always walk away totally covered in drywall dust. I just renovated my basement and thought why not try this vacuum dust collecting pole — well let me tell you — it works — it really works well — I did t even wear a dust mask and I sanded the ceilings directly over my head and I was fine - maybe not 100 percent of the dust my very close :-)The other part was very little clean up after / thankfully and the drywall dust that is normally left behind on the walls is a pain when you out in the first coat of paint primer. If you don’t vacuum it off — it mixes in the primer snd then you really should like sand the primer / another mess to vacuum up — I went immediately to paint and did not have to vacuum or sand the primed wall :-)Very pleased with the vacuum pole sander and if you add a dust collecting Cyclone between it and your vacuum - your vacuum and vacuum filter hardly needs cleaning either.Good luck ALLBradPs I also bought the hand held vacuum sander for the corners and touch ups ??????????Sadly I’ve done lots of smaller drywall jobs where this tool would have been an absolutely amazing addition - the clean up of dust is entirely as advertised and the adjustable auction controls allows for the ability to add or subtract tool pressure on the work surface. Note: this version is ideal for wall work but is a bit awkward for ceilings, given the need to work overhead. It works just as well as for walls; however, it just requires a more uncomfortable work posture. I would therefore recommend the extension pole version if ceilings are on the list of surfaces to sand. Great product - highly recommended - wish I’d known it existed long before now!!Seems like a great idea..will minimize the dust so there's less cleanup after sanding right?!? ...sure!...but you have to work 10x as hard to move the head around due to the suction of the vacuum. Also not a fan of the "Sand Paper" in my opinion the dust gets caught up in the wholes way to fast, you have to continually clear it up to get a semi decent sanding going.I use this sander for corners and detailing edges after I'm done sanding the larger areas with Festool Planex. This sander is good to have in nice homes where clients are very mindful about dust. It takes care of anything left after the Planex.
