VacMaster VP210 Commercial Chamber Vacuum Sealer Machine for Food Preservation - Perfect for Restaurants, Butcher Shops & Home Meal Prep

I bought my VP210 10 years ago and it is still going strong even after a move. The oil-less pump (VP215 has an oiled pump) meant I did not have to do any maintenance so far but is best used for occasional small batch work. If you are using it every day for hours on end I would opt for the oiled version to keep the parts from overheating and wearing prematurely. I find this to be one of my most versatile piece of kitchen equipment as I use it for Sous vide, quick marinating, storage and mason jar canning. I’ve gone through a couple of the cheap home machines before getting this and they were only good for relatively dry foods. It is an expert machine though so vacuum sealing has to be part of your lifestyle to get the most benefits and it not just become an expensive appliance you never use.ProsSeals just about anythingIs a good size for most home or light catering applications.Bags are cheap compared to the home sealersLittle to no maintenance if used for light duty applications that are typical for a home cook or low volume businessConsHeavy. Put it in one place and leave it. You won’t use it if you have to move it to do so.Too big to be left on a countertop. I used to have it on a countertop but have since switched to my garage since it is right off the kitchen.Expensive initial cost.Controls aren’t as easy to adjust for different types of food so I keep it at an all around setting and only switch it if absolutely necessary.This is a five stars if you are really into vacuum sealing benefits but you have to work around it’s weight and footprint so it is isn’t for everyone.
