I bought these plus 3 other brands to see which ones worked best for storing a literal mountain of bedding. I tried Amazon Basics, Vacwell, Accenter, and the actual Space Saver bags. Here's how it went:AMAZON BASICS: bags are good size, but that's where the pros stop. First it's really annoying that they fold the bags with the size indicator on the innermost surface. Since they're all folded into small squares, this means you have to completely unfold the bags to see their size. The slides to close the zipper don't grip well, leave air gaps in the zipper, and constantly fall off because the stop at each end is too flat and doesn't work. Caps are hard to put back on, threading crooked on most attempts, especially if the valve ring sinks in when the bag seals; when they do go on wrong they push on the foam gasket and let air back in. WORST CON: out of 12 bags, used correctly, sealed completely, and not overfilled, all but 2 puffed back up at least partially overnight, and several reinflated entirely within an hour. I could not find any holes, cuts, or damage; they just don't stay airtight. BOTTOM LINE: good size, thick plastic, but doesn't matter if it can't hold a seal.GENERAL COMPARISON: All 4 brands had some static, like most plastic or vinyl bags. The sliding clips need improvement on all 4 brands, and I got a better result just closing the zippers with my fingers like a big Ziploc bag. The sizes were good on all 4 brands, and I have king size down comforters sealed in jumbo bags from all but the Amazon brand, because it kept reinflating. I had to take that one out and put it in a Vacwell I had left over. I used my vacuum, so did not try out the pumps from any of the brands. They all look like basic, cheap plastic pumps that would do for travel. With the Amazon bags you'll need it, because you'll be constantly pulling air back out of your bags.SPACE SAVER: Of the 4 brands I tried, the Space Savers were the only ones that had zero air leaks two days later. GUARANTEE: Space Saver also claims to offer a lifetime guarantee, stating that if any bag reinflates or doesn't keep its seal, they replace it for free on their website. I don't know if they really honor that, but they are the only ones to even offer it that I saw. If it's legit, that alone is probably worth what I paid for the brand. The caps on the Space Savers go on very easily; you can literally drop it onto the threads, give it a spin, and it basically closes itself. This is because the caps are small and only cover the center part of the sealing ring; two of the other brands have caps that have to go over the entire sealing ring so they have to line up just right, which can be tricky once the bag is wrinkly from being vacuum sealed (see pics). The Space Saver clips work okay and stay on a little better, but still go past the stops way too easy and fall off. Again, I found ordinary fingers to be more effective, and I can actually feel if there are any open places.BOTTOM LINE: If you aren't looking for long term storage or lots of re-uses, the Vacwell and Accenter brands (also on Amazon) were average performers and a little cheaper, so they'll probably work for travel or temporary jobs. If you're looking to store linens or clothing for whole seasons or years, or use them for sheets and will be opening and resealing them often, my money is (literally) on Space Saver because of their tight seal, easy-close caps, and reinflation guarantee.I wish I'd done this sooner and can't express how awesome vacuum bags are to overhaul crowded closets, maximize tight spaces, and bring order to chaos. Sadly I can't recommend the Amazon Basics at all since they just can't seem to keep the air out.Pictured is 19 (you read that right, go ahead and count them!) complete queen size sheet sets with their pillowcases (bag size SMALL), 9 king size duvet cover sets with their shams (also fit in the SMALL) and 6 sets of extra pillowcases (all in one small). These were crammed into any available spot in 3 bedrooms and my laundry room, and now fit in one tiny hall closet with enough wiggle room to make it easy getting them in and out. I used the medium and large bags for winter blankets, and the jumbo for my massive comforters. These things are truly game changing, especially if you're short on storage space.*I bought these items with my own money, no discounts, and my review is honest and unsolicited.I’m using it for traveling!! Is really bad how airlines restrictions are so bad about kgs to carry on, either on a check in bag or with you ( carry on) so I got to use this to help me deal airlines besides restrictions about wait are also about the size of the luggage!!!!.. this was the only option for me to be able to packed at least must of my clothes!!!. Someone write a review about they break!!!.. BELIEVE ME!! I opened it and closet six times trying to accommodate all my clothes!!!! And I use the same bag!!! .. I recommended to fill it up inside your luggage and at the same time pumping the air out go ahead and mold it to the shape of your luggage due is going to be hard as a rock after you take all the air out… is very good!!!!They're affordable, work well, and hold up.I bought a pack with multiple sizes so I could use them for various items in my closet that needed to be rotated. Medium and large. They feel cheap and flimsy but I expected as much because they're kinda just giant sandwich bags. The air pump is also cheap but it worked very well, especially for how I was really going at it. I thought I was going to break it but it took my abuse like a champ.I do recommend listening to the fill lines indicated on the bags. If you overfill the bags you do risk having a hard time with your items compressing properly when removing the air, which can cause the bag to burst open or rip. I was able to put a lot into one bag even when following the fill line. These work great. This was my first time buying compression bags and I will definitely be buying more. I bought a new bed set and my other set was still in good shape. We all know how much a king size comforter takes up space though! So I decided to try these compression bags. Took my comforter down to 1/4 of the size after words. Then I proceeded to use it on clothing and more, that was taking up space. Filled all my bags in one day and saved some space!I bought this for an upcoming trip and it definitely works well. The bags are bigger than I thought it would be so I only had to use one bag for my clothes. The pump that it came with worked well with it. It wasn't too bulky to bring on the trip especially since I had more room in my luggage. Now I can use these bags to store my winter clothes and blankets as it takes all the air from the fluff. I definitely recommend these bags.Today was the first I've used one of these bags. I put a king-sized comforter and shams in the large bag. I used the manual pump (provided) just to see how well it worked. It was fast and easy. I've been watching the bag. So far, no air infiltration. Much better quality bags than those I got at the big box bath store.I have purchased several different brands and they all to seem to take in air over time, but this brand after a month is still very tight. They actually do what was advertised. I will definitely be purchasing more. These bags are amazing. They were the best deal on Amazon and Performed as well as any other I have bought. I had two daughters, with way too many clothes, moving. These bags allowed them to take all seasons of clothing and do it in a compact manner. They are truly amazing and great space savers. I Will say that we used a vacuum to remove air versus the pump given so I cannot attest to the effectiveness of that. But certainly with a vacuum, these worked perfectly. There was one bag that kept re-inflating and we realized it had a leak but I did not pursue getting a new one. We just taped it up. That is why I did not give five stars. These are well worth using if you need to pack a lot of items in a condensed manner.Watch out. Amazon has an error in their system and the item says 15 pack in multiple places in bold but in the fine type in the middle of the description it says 6 pack. They will send you a 6 pack and will not honor the fact that the item is described as a 15 and you select 15 pack from the options when you order. Kinda shame on you Amazon. I'm moving tomorrow and now have to send them back because even if ordering 2 6 packs they are more than buying another brand 12 pack and arent worth keeping. And free same day/one day took 2 days to get. This is a and real review . I live in a static caravan so vacuum bag lots of stuff , but was losing faith in reviews and bags all seemed to inflate after a short while , spent so much time re~packing and trying again, at the point of giving upwith vacuum bags , so thought it cant get any worse and bought these . Medium size ~ fits a full size pillow , childrens duvet and sheets , perfect . Pump works really fast . Did this as a trial, 2wks and its still vacuumed . Yipee , now to get on using the rest .These either work really well, or not at all. In my photo, the top item is a double-size, thick comforter compacted down to less than the size of a pillow. The bottom item is a small memory-foam pillow, which I've tried twice to compact, but fully reinflated. I was especially careful to seal the ziploc edge, vacuumed it flat, and within 2 days it was back to original size.I've found about a 50% failure rate of the 6 I've tried. My advice: use these right away, so you can check within a week to see if they've failed, and return them within the 30 days if they don't.I would get these immediately and look no further!I stuffed these with all sorts of stuff from bedding to towels, from dresses to coats and they are just perfect.I have used these to travel with and they haven’t lost compression nor have they tore or ripped.I’ve used the first bags right away when they arrived and months later there is not even a little loss of compression/vacuum!I think a very important tip is to NOT exceed the limit line. What I have done to maximise storage is to fill the bag to the max as long as I can close it and then take out some air (as that will create space in the bag), then I just move the clothes down the bag (without opening the bag).I made sure that the bags were very well sealed and all the clothes were below the max line.I’ve used every single one of these bags with the technique above and not even one lost shape or vacuum. One more tip to remove air quickly is to: fill the bag, close the ziplock lid, open the valve by removing the round lid, and squish the bag with your body. Then simply use the pump to finish removing the last bits of air left! (This saved me a lot of time and energy! So far so good!
