Klean Kanteen 20oz Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Tumbler with Leak-Proof Lid - Keeps Drinks Hot/Cold for Hours - Perfect for Coffee, Tea, Hiking, Camping & Office Use

My first Klean Kanteen 8 ounce tumbler was purchased several years ago as a camping tumbler for whiskey based on a review in Outside magazine on whiskey tumblers. I had been gifted a 10 ounce Yeti Tumbler which functioned well for that purpose but left me with significant hand fatigue after a few Old Fashioneds. My friends with larger than normal hands echoed this complaint about what we considered an outstanding product.As a whiskey tumbler, I found it outstanding with similar insulating properties to the Yeti but significantly more aesthetically pleasing and a joy to hold. 8 ounces is an ideal size for portion control, which is an important consideration in a whiskey tumbler.Numerous people have complained about not being able to drain the tumbler easily with the lid on and that effect is real but it is a small amount of the contents and what can you expect for an insulated tumbler with thick walls?The insulation is excellent with no sweating on the outside and a wall temperature very near ambient. It is worth the purchase price for this application alone even if used for 2 or 3 camping weekends a year. It will survive drops with ease, but I do suggest hand washing with no appreciable soaking time as I would with any glued vacuum insulated container (which nearly all manufactured today are). As a camping whiskey tumbler I would give it a 9.5 out of tenThere are several reviews singing the praises of this tumbler for 8 ounce coffee drinks from a national coffee chain. Excellent insulation, fits in cup holder, adequate lid. An important note would be that I advise against filling to the brim and placing in your cup holder -- a jostle will result in spilled coffee...I bought this as an important splurge to enhance my camping experiences but I have come to use this tumbler as my go to coffee cup at home, at work, and camping so it gets plenty of use. It functions great ....and I said this before, but: It is a joy to hold.It is not the ideal sized coffee container for a lot of people but it works very well for my coffee preferences. It pairs very well with the aero press coffee system which I use at home and camping. If I start traveling for work again I will carry this tumbler and my aero press so that I can have coffee that kicks hotel coffee in the butt and is personally preferable to coffee from that national chain -- at a fraction of the price100% satisfied. I have purchased many Klean Kanyeen products and never been disappointed. The same goes for this cup! Keeps drinks cold all day long, the top secures tightly so is to prevent leaks… I highly recommend purchasing one for yourself and a second one for me!I had already had a great experience with Klean Kanteen, the insulation is really great, I usually use this style of cup for cold beverages + ice, and it takes a long time for the ice to melt.This was the first time that I buy the stainless steel version and I really like the look of it though it can be a little slippery comparing to the powder coated ones. So I added a silicone band from an old starbucks cup I had and it helps me get a better grip.I wish the sip lids could also accommodate the Klean Kanteen straws that I already have, so usually if I use the straw I use a lid also from that old Starbucks cup of mine and it fits the straw better, just wish I didn't need to have two style of caps for a cup.The size is great, it holds the perfect amount of smoothies or iced coffee that I usually drink, I don't know why they discontinued the 20oz size, so yeah, i recommend buying this product before it's gone.The only complain I have is that there was a sticker holding the paper sleeve with the brand around the cup and it got really sticky and hard to take it out and it left its mark on the cup. So I wish they did their packaging without having to stick anything on the cup.Overall happy with the purchase.I picked this up to use with my Aeropress. Unlike the Klean Kanteens with a threaded lid, Aeropress fits just right on top of this tumbler, and 200 grams of water fills it just enough to be able to fit the lid on. Sure it only keeps the coffee hot for up to two hours, but if you can't drink eight ounces of coffee in that timeframe, maybe switch to a different beverage? Or get a larger Klean Kanteen that can keep it hot longer. For me, this is perfect when I'm making a quick coffee for the drive to work.I really do like the insulating properties of Kleen Kanteen products. I have a double walled water bottle that keeps ice cold for many hours and I love it. This product, however, is not as great. Does it keep tea and coffee hot for a while? Yes. Does it hold flavors? No. Is the Sea Crest color lovely? Yes. So far so good. The problem is with the lid. I was desperately looking for a lid that did not have many parts and spots to grow icky mold or were hard to clean. On that level, this lid is great. One flat piece with a removable silicone ring. Perfect. Here's the problem--the opening that you drink from is an opening with no cover. It is a hole that stays open. So it absolutely SUCKS for filling up and trying to bring it anywhere. I've been using it for two weeks. Every day I put coffee in it (and do not even come close to filling it, it's only a bit more than 2/3 full), and every day I spill coffee. On the lid of the mug, or on my bag, or on myself, or in my car, or on the floor, or any combination of those things. It doesn't leak a lot, but it spills out the hole enough when I'm trying to juggle my bags, etc walking into work that this is not going to work for me. It has to be the only item in your hands and you have to walk carefully to not have coffee/tea slosh out of it onto the lid and possibly on you or your clothes. Is it great for just a cup of tea at your desk? Sure. It will keep that tea hot for a long time and you can use it for both coffee and tea without it holding flavors. But I don't believe it's a great mug for actual travel from the house to the car to work or school.Bought for my coffee from costa to help reduce single use cup waste and it will keep it hot for 1-2 hours. However i used it on a very hot day a few weeks back, i filled it with cold water from the fridge and some ice cubes, one and a half hours later and the ice cubes were still frozen even with the lid off. The outside of the tumbler was dry (zero condensation) and warm to the touch,awesome stuff. I have many Klean Kanteen items and cannot recommend there products enough.I bought this after returning a cheaper version that broke. I initially bought it to use for my commute and it's great for that as my drink is still hot when I get to work. I've now started using it for hot drinks at home as having a young child, I often don't finish my drink before it's goes cold. No longer a problem with this cup, also less mess than a mug if it gets knocked over. I use it at night for hot or cold drinks that I sometimes finish if I'm woken in the middle of the night. Only very slight downside is that it can't go in the dishwasher but I have been putting it in anyway and it's not been a problem. My husband was eyeing it up so I bought one for him too and he also loves it.I needed a cup for my nightstand, one with a lid to prevent our meddlesome cats from ogling and pawing inside. I used to have those generic plastic/thermo cups, but those always proved flimsy in some way (esp. the closing mechanism - small and difficult to wash).The Klean cup is a whole different league: it's super simple and sturdy, as is the lid (which has to be purchased separately, btw). Thankfully, the lid is easy to remove (no endless screwing or prying a super tight fit) and has a nice wide mouth (read: you don't have to drill a hole in it to make the fluid flow faster). It has quite a pronounced tab that goes over the rim of the cup to make it easier to take it off. This tab also helps positioning the cup's mouth correctly even at night (easier and safer than feeling for a handle).Of course, like most of these lids, it's by no means water tight. It's there just so that - if you act quickly - any eventual spillage is a small one, not a puddle of water. And it deters cats :). I even discovered that the closing mechanism can be removed from the lid, leaving me with just the hard plastic lid with a wide mouth and a hole for a straw. Great, even less stuff to clean tea sediments off of.This is a big cup. I can sip my tea like forever from this one. The vacuum walls are a neat bonus, they're especially great for summer night heats.I’m a big fan of Klean Kanteen and own several of their bottles. They are hard wearing, look great and really do look after whatever juice or drink I put inside them. Keeping them cool for longer than it ever takes for me to drink them. So, in a drove to use less plastic and coffee cups I bought this little Kup - it’s GREAT, keeps my double espresso or macchiato hot and is nice to drink from too, with the lid on or off. No more cold coffees at my desk! Highly recommend on all fronts, a great purchase.It’s ok but not as good as I was expecting it to be. I also misread the description and thought it had a spill proof too but it’s not a mug you can throw in your bag as there is a hole in the lid, for drinking out of, with no option to close it. It keeps my drink hot/warm for a couple of hours and is ok.
