The plastic wands that came with the original central vacuum garage hose kept breaking and/or coming loose. It was very annoying and inconvenient. The metal pipe fit the hose fine, and the floor brush was large and sturdy. Should have noticed that their availability much sooner. Made my life much easier.Good overall product, but the catch on the button is a bit weak. It won't stay at its most raised position, and keeps moving to the 2nd position from the most raised one. Still usable, but would be better not to have to huddle down as much and vacuum while staying straight.Very goodI feel like a complete nerd for loving this wand so much but I do! I have a Kirby Sentra I bought at a divorce sale, but it was missing the extension wand and a few other pieces. No big, but after laying on my belly to vacuum under a bed I was over it. This fit right onto the house. I do have to push it fairly hard to get it to stay, and occasionally it slips. Still completely fine because I love it! It's the perfect length to accept a hardwood floor brush and make short work of vacuuming. The click lock works great, I shortened it to dust ceiling fan blades then extended it for a light fixture in the stairwell. Just right. I know this is marketed for a specific system but it does work with other standard sized systems, including Kirby. It's far superior quality to the plasticy wand the Kirby is supposed to have. I'm going to check out this brand for any other random pieces needed before bothering with the branded stuff.Turns out this wand is a "Friction Fit", and doesn't maintain a tight "grip" on the hose to which it's attached. Under use it disconnects a lot, at least for use with the hose it's listed for on the Amazon website. So this wand was returned to Amazon.After considerable searching online, contacted Cen-Tec directly, and they provided us with a wand (Part Number 34531) that did have a button hole, but it was not compatible with the existing H-P hose purchased from Amazon! BEWARE THAT THE PROPER INTERFACE IS WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THE WAND TO FIT THE APPROPRIATE HOSE!HOWEVER, upon contacting Cen-Tec again, Cen=Tec promptly provided another appropriately hole-punched wand that does fit the H-P hose at no charge. They have GREAT customer service!!!Nice accessoryWell madeThis thing is awesome. I was skeptical, but it's heavy duty and easy to use. Something not mentioned in the listing for these Is that for some reason in my opinion they seem to speed up the suction force.Heavy duty, and also heavier than I expected (in a good quality way). I can see where some people would complain about the plastic locking mechanism, I think they could have maybe used a higher quality component there, but it works just fine right now. I think it's the highest probable failure point over time, but we'll see. Also, I'm 6'2", so I have to extend it nearly all the way to use it comfortably at a good angle with a hardwood floor attachment. If you're pushing NBA level height, you might want to pick up a longer extension or two of these to daisy chain for maximum comfort. For me though, damn happy with this product overall.My original (Superlux) wand broke, so I needed a replacement. I got this one and I'm very happy with it -- my old vacuum wand had a "pin hole" which this one doesn't, and I thought to myself I was going to simply drill a hole in to have it fit, but I didn't have to -- it's a snug fit, it works perfect the way it is. Quite frankly I feel this works even better than the original wand, I truly believe the suction improved, because it is a better fit, it has less holes for the air to escape. Recommended.Looks like the unit will work fine, if the extension lock is durable. Had to drill a 1/4" hole in the tube so the lock button on the hose attachment end would lock to the upper tube. Not a big deal for me as I have the drill etc.Figured I’d try it for myself, but the reviews are right. There is no hole for the arm of the vacuum to clip into, therefore unusable unless you want to pay for the item and drill a hole into the metal telescope yourself. Returning.This is a nice upgrade from the wand that came with our vacuum. Ours came with a plastic wand that has seen better days. The bonus part is, you can adjust the length of the wand. How cool is that? It seems like it's going to be durable.I was overdue to replace my broken plastic Electrolux wand. Since it is made of Chrome it will not break. I find very useful the options of different lengths, it is easy to go from vacuuming the floor to staircase.
